That is, until, news of a dynasty invention prematurely hits the world stage. The release comes on the heels of a starlit’s brutal murder. Lily mission: to carefully unlock “skeletons in the family closet” — and it means walking a line between the curiosity over the use of the invention by world audiences and her family’s need to operate in seclusion. Lily’s quest becomes our quest. Each one of the members of the family has a motive to have killed the young starlit, who was about to reveal the access code to the invention as it appeared encrypted in her recent hit song. Each one of the dynasty members is capable of not sharing access with the rest of the world.

In a bold provocative voice, Mardi takes us back to Lily’s childhood and a RADIO scene that she shares with her brother Jack. As we enter the present day story,the memory of the voice of that long ago scene guides Lily through the family drama. Lily enters her greatest test, as she finds clues from her childhood radio memory that finally yield the access code to the invention. A four note DNA code is hidden in a musical key and is needed as proof of ownership and access to the invention. MEND (musical encode decode) is a real time invention created and fought over by the characters in my fictional narrative: THE SPELL OF VAUGIRARD. The narrative is a series of five books that begins with THE SKELETON SCORE.  Book one, clues us in to the historical roadmap of the ancient Barrington dynasty and their centuries old migration into modern times. The dynasty has many members around the globe who know how their secret musical language was built, maintained and used over the ages. Unsuspecting Lily finds herself held for murder and treason for the MEND access she might give away.  As we follow Lily, guiding her out of her  dilemma, she discovers how her own Barrington history is filled with questions. Yet her unwavering capability in deciphering the meaning of text, tones, words, numbers, gives her audience confidence. Lily Barrington, musicologist and lawyer,  is in Washington D.C to do research on her husband's famous family.  A news broadcast suddenly announces the murder of their daughter, pop star Rachel Barrington.  Rachel and Lily have been fighting and now Lily is a suspect in her daughter's murder!  Rachel leaves behind a music score that stops just short of revealing a key that activates her father's new invention MEND™ (Musical ENcode-Decode).  Lily is unaware she has been sent by her family to unlock the meaning of this ancient music score that could empower humanity or destroy it. Her journey into the mystery of the Barringtons; how they began and how they control the universe, becomes both her burden and her amazing inheritance

This knowledge has not come easily to the members of the clan. They hold their rights very tightly to their chest.MEND capability has a seating plan that unfolds the clan’s membership order in a succession of inheritances.  The tune leads us to a vault where the dead of the Barringtons are buried. A fight to the finish is on for each Barrington member’s claim to their portion of the universe. Each member walks away with their part of the family score as  it first was heard bringing magic to earth. The interconnection of these character’s brains have a beautiful symmetry that keeps our planet spinning in the sky. Rachel Barrington, the hot number of the clan happens to hold the central theme and star position in the family. Her killer, raging with jealousy believes she holds too much power  She is murdered to repay her family debt. .An explosion occurs at the office of the inventor, The trademark insignia of four notes that Rachel was to have penned as heir to this family fortune has been ripped away. The family score needs to be evened out for daylight to re- appear anywhere on the earth. This horrifying debacle happens on American soil, making Americans targets of a global espionage plan.


Protagonist Lily Barrington, holed up in her Washington DC hotel, a women who married into the clan — a part of the rest of human kind just like us, knows nothing of her own legitimate genetic place in this family hierarchy until she becomes the prime suspect of her StAR daughter’s murder.


The tune Rachel Barrington leaves behind, provides the powerful lightening rod to Lily’s memory and our challenging salvation. That is IF she can stay alive. Lily’s cell phone, ringing with her daughter’s tune, Rae’s song is ringing off the hook…

The Medieval village of Vaugirard contains a puzzle of Stonehenge power. The puzzle unfolds a story of an ancient high voltage energy source. It was believed that only those inside the village could hear a haunting family melody. But recent findings have revealed, that the relatives of the people who died at the time of a massacre in the village, also have the power to transmit it. 

The village power travels only with a direct line of the village heirs.. Like a footprint, the laser like tune can be used to identify human identity anywhere on the planet. In the 21st century, a singing STAR stumbles upon the family melody. She is killed just before her voice activates the access code that opens out the village power.  THE SKELETON SCORE is narrated by protagonist Lily Barrington. 

Lily’s surefire detective and political skills tell of a diabolical dynasty global plan to release a powerful energy source to the public.  Her narration is timed to the nano second of a possible global catastrophe. iPad Roulette – a Game between two Rockin’ Girls

Rachel Barrington, American singing star extraordinaire has purchased her hot new iPad and is heading home. She is getting ready to use her iPad to pen her signature cadence to a tune she sang only hours ago on a NY stage…A global audience hearing the performance televised, is enthralled.  Glued to their seats, they are still hearing the sound of her reverberating voice bounce off the stage. Hers is a voice so powerful, it cascades for what seems an eternity into the event horizon.

Across the pond in Paris, a young child with a striking resemblance to Rachel is facing the sun, watching the playful shadows of the dawn dance on the pavement.  The French child has the very same iPad, loaded with a hidden script of a new invention MENDtm, musical encode decode. Church bells are circling Paris. A variation of the tune of the American night,  is playing out in a brighter key.

At every strike of the bell, the French child, Odette Rae, responds to what Rachel writes with a counterpart matching chemical and geologic reference, encoded by MENDtm. The child is dancing a hopscotch that contains a message to be decoded by intelligence, in Washington D.C.

The girls ages 8 and 18 are immersed in a secret Russian roulette duo captured by the MENDtm script. They are the bait of one of the biggest quantum nuclear experiments to hit the planet.

Seeking immortality by storing life that reawakens with a click?! You are sure to find this experiment of interest. The powerful voice of Rachel is fading away. Days that were once numbered have turned into hours and instants. A theft, and premature release of the MENDtm invention has put the MENDtm script in the hands of the most innocent of the Barrington clan. Our existence is at risk. The stakes are high.  Seconds are left to learn the intricate control mechanism of the MEND script and screen.

A character legend controls MENDtm.  Each of the Barringtons has an engraved insignia embedded in a character doll. The dolls are avatar tools.  Seen in a Paris arcade,  the character dolls weave an interlocking keyboard of data. The keyboard is used to get in and out of a hidden vault where the Barrington’s secrets to life are stored…

Rachel Barrington singer extraordinaire, is murdered.  Her audience of fans, at a loss to hear her next hit are challenged to follow the ill-fated voice of their promising star. Rachel lands on the secret to her splendid inheritance.  She locates the echoing route of the Barrington clan as they appear on earth. As the breath of life leaves her, each character voice is heard in their domain of the universe.  Her journey home to the vault, brings each of their parts to light. The MEND IP Keyboard is in hand!
